On Sunday 11th November the team visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The museum celebrates the automobile invented by Carl Benz in 1886. It relates the technological advances to the time in history to show the incredible leaps in design and invention. More than 160 vehicles of all types are on show and range from the oldest automobiles ever built to legendary, championship-winning racing cars and futuristic research vehicles.

The museum also includes a special museum dedicated to VfB Stuttgart and the club’s history spanning over 125 years. This special exhibition has more than 100 exhibits on display including the Bundesliga championship trophy of 2007, jerseys, pennants and player awards.

Mercedes-Benz history began in 1886 when Carl Benz invented the world’s first petrol-powered car. This invention has led the way of innovation and technology ever since and continues today.

The 3-starred logo and symbol of Mercedes-Benz resembles the technological endeavours of Benz on land, sea and air. The logo has stuck and is the prominent symbol of the global brand. Mercedes-Benz products include automobiles, trucks and buses as well as internal combustion engines and luxury vehicles.

During the visit, the team thoroughly enjoyed learning about the earliest of technological advances to the more futuristic concept cars including the innovation of the steering wheel airbag and the introduction of the anti-locking braking system (ABS).

The museum is very well priced, and visitors could spend many hours there learning about the growth of the company. The team would highly recommend a visit to the museum upon visiting Stuttgart.
