On Saturday 3rd November, the team went on a day trip to Wilhelma. Wilhelma is a zoological-botanical garden in Stuttgart and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Baden-Württemberg with more than 2 million visitors annually. The zoo covers about 30 hectares and houses approximately 11,500 animals including lions, giraffes’ elephants and flamingos. The zoo also hosts a wide variety of birds and sea animals.
The zoo has animal shows and other activities throughout the day including elephant feeding and a sea lion show. The zoo also has both inside and outside areas for most animals to compensate for the harsh, cold winter weather.
With such a wide variety of animals, Wilhelma is a great day out at any time throughout the year and is highly recommended for wildlife enthusiasts.
